An Open-Access Multi-modal Dataset for Cognitive, Motor and Cognitive-Motor Tasks

Open neuroimaging datasets are important for developing reusable analysis methods, but many available resources focus on isolated tasks or single modalities. Here, we describe a multimodal dataset acquired from 30 healthy adults during three sessions of seven cognitive, motor and combined cognitive-motor tasks. The protocol includes N-back, mental arithmetic, passive arm movement, motor imagery, active motor execution, N-back arithmetic and a full cognitive-motor condition. The dataset contains synchronized electroencephalography, functional near-infrared spectroscopy, electrocardiography, behavioral responses and subjective ratings. Data are organized in Brain Imaging Data Structure format and are publicly available for reuse. The hierarchical task design allows users to compare isolated and combined task conditions, while repeated sessions support analyses of intra-participant variability. Technical validation focuses on EEG and fNIRS responses and on subjective task ratings. The dataset may support research in multimodal neurophysiology, cognitive-motor interaction, neuroergonomics and brain-computer interface methods.
