David K. Levine of Washington University in St. Louis reviews “Beyond Individual Choice: Teams and Frames in Game Theory” by Michael Bacharach,. The EconLit Abstract of the reviewed work begins “Proposes a revision of game theory that resolves long-standing problems of explanations for human coordination and cooperation. Based on an unfinished book that the author was working on at the time of his death in 2002. Explores variable frame theory and how it can be used to transform pure coordination games into Hi-Lo games. Discusses the place of groups in our life, and in the way we model our life, in terms of a theory of group activity. Considers the evolution of group action. Examines team reasoning.
