Dataset of lipidome and transcriptome of Gentiana crassicaulis seeds during artificial aging

Gentiana crassicaulis is a significant traditional medicinal plant in China. Currently, seed reproduction is the predominant method for large-scale seedling cultivation. However, the seeds of Gentiana are typically susceptible to aging and deterioration, which severely impacts seedling production and germplasm preservation. Research on the seed aging process of G. crassicaulis is still relatively limited, particularly in terms of systematic multi-omics data support. In this study, transcriptomic and lipidomic analyses were conducted on G. crassicaulis seeds artificially aged for 0, 5, 10, and 25 days. A total of 119.21 Gb of high-quality transcriptome sequencing data were generated, and 611 lipid molecular species across five major classes and 28 subclasses were comprehensively identified. This dataset provides a comprehensive multi-omics resource for investigating lipid metabolism and transcriptional regulation during seed aging in G. crassicaulis , which may facilitate future studies on germplasm conservation and seed quality improvement.
