Extensive Environmental Monitoring Dataset from the Rad Nano Dosimeter Experiment of the Axiom-4 Spaceflight

This Data Descriptor presents a comprehensive, continuous environmental dataset acquired during the Axiom-4 (Ax-4) Mission by the Rad Nano Dosimeter Experiment. The dataset was recorded using ten RadNano Infinity Astronaut Dosimeters operating as multi-parameter environmental monitoring units. Measurements span three distinct mission phases: (i) approximately two weeks prior to launch at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC), (ii) the complete transit to and from the International Space Station (ISS) aboard the Dragon spacecraft, and (iii) the on-orbit mission phase aboard the ISS. The dataset includes UTC-timestamped measurements of air temperature, instrument temperature, contactless infrared target temperature, relative humidity, atmospheric pressure, carbon dioxide concentration, indoor air quality indicators (IAQ), total volatile organic compounds (TVOC), light intensity (front and rear sensors), and three-axis magnetic flux density. Radiation dosimetry data, accelerometer data, and instrument telemetry were intentionally excluded and are described elsewhere. This openly available dataset provides a uniquely detailed characterisation of crew and experiment environments during a human spaceflight mission, supporting a wide range of biological, medical, human research, and materials science investigations.
